I'm a HUGE movie fan! And I like to share my favorite movie picks with my friends. And since we're friends, welcome to...
UNCLE BELLSKI'S MOVIE CLUB!
My pick for this week is "End Of Watch"

"End Of Watch" is from the dude that brought you one of the other great LA cop movies "Training Day".
I used to work for the County making videos and I did a bunch of "ride alongs" with the Sheriff and Probation gang units. I can tell you that the procedures depicted in "End Of Watch" are pretty accurate. As well as the banter and camaraderie between fellow officers and their families and the different people they meet on patrol.

My only gripe with the movie was the gimmick of having much of the movie appear to be shot by the lead characters themselves, as well as by gangbangers. Jake Gyllenhaal's character is taking college courses and one of his classes is film making. It's mentioned only a couple of times during the movie and then seemingly forgotten. But the story is strong and compelling and every character rings true.
It's worth a buck at the Red Box.
