According to Gibson.com, The Gibson Guitar Town has returned to Tinseltown.
As part of the annual Sunset Strip Music Festival going on this weekend, Gibson GuitarT own on The Sunset Strip in West Hollywood will showcase another round of 10 foot tall guitar sculptures that will line The Strip during and after the Festival.
Various artists created these guitar art sculptures celebrating this years SSMF Honoree Joan Jett, The Doors, ZZ Top, Blondie, Alice Cooper and others.
Originally launched in 2010, the display of the giant, colorful Gibson style guitars sculptures not only celebrate the icons of Classic Rock, they also are auctioned off after the Sunset Strip Music Festival to raise money for various charities.
Previous auctions have raised more than $106,000 that benefitted the L.A. Fund for Education, the L.A. Youth Network, West Hollywood Public Art and the West Hollywood Library.
As part of the annual festival, dozens of bands will perform both inside The Strip's famous nightclubs like The Whiskey and Roxy as well as on outdoor stages on The Strip itself.
