Rock N Roll Legend and Godfather of Thrash Metal, Lemmy Kilmeister is back with a new Motorhead album and DVD "The World Is Ours Vol. 2: Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else".
So to promote his new project Lemmy is making the media rounds and shedding some light on his infamous Rock N Roll Outlaw image.
So here's some things you may not know about Lemmy:
When he went to his first job with Hawkwind, he went as a guitar player, but the bass player didn't show up for the gig, so even though he never played bass before, he filled in for the first show and stole his gig.
Lemmy was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix and learned that since Jimi was so awesome, Lemmy should give up being a guitar player and stick strictly to bass.
Lemmy is an avid Nazi memorabilia collector...but is not into Nazism. He learned that if he had known how much of this Nazi memorabilia there was to collect, he never would have started in the first place, because it's crowding him out of his house.
Metallica are Lemmy's biggest fans. So big that they came down to L.A. for his birthday a few years back and all dressed up as him and played at the Whisky a Go Go for free in tribute.
Lemmy has been a regular at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood since the '70's and can usually be found at the end of the patio bar playing Trivia Video games.
Lemmy also hit on my girlfriend once there at the "Bo" back in the '80's, but made up for it by buying us drinks!
Rock on Lemmy!
