This weekend its Father's Day. To the man who taught you to make the fart noise under your armpit...righty-tighty-lefy-loosy...and how to fish, hunt, golf, build or mow. My Dad passed away in 1986 at 48 years old. I was 26. I was blessed to have more time with him than any of my brothers. I considered him my best friend, and I miss him every day.
Men's Health magazine polled more than 2,000 men about how they compare to their fathers. Check out the results (My answers in parenthesis):
How involved was your father in raising you?
(Mine was busy, but he always made the time)
Did your father spank you?
("I'll knock you into the middle of next week...")
How often do you tell your father you love him?
(Would give anything to have one more time to say it)
Who is more responsible?
(Sounds about right)
Who is handier?
(My dad was the KING of starting projects. Never finished most of them - so I give me the nod)
Who is funnier?
(This is easily a tie!)
Who is smarter?
(He had more degrees...but I am the keeper of useless knowledge)
Who is more successful?
(What defines it? I've never competed)
